hCG Medically Supervised Weight Loss Program
What is hCG?
hCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone naturally produced by the placenta in pregnant women that almost completely controls the metabolic function through the hypothalamus during the pregnancy. Contrary to popular belief the hCG used in diet protocols is a variation of the hCG form used for fertility treatments, except in a smaller dose. All hCG used for medical purposes is natural, but created in laboratories from sterile cells. It is NOT extracted from women or animal urine, and is not a sex hormone. All of these are common misconceptions.
How much weight can I lose on the hCG diet?
Most hCG dieters report a loss on average of 0.5 to 1 lbs. per day. At the very least a patient will lose 1/2 lb. per day, and, at the most, 2 lbs. per day. Usually 1 lb. is generally lost in the first day. Factors that guarantee faster weight loss include increasing vegetable intake and mixing salad with each meal. Fiber and water intake is extremely important. It’s also important to remember one can only lose fat if overweight, and after you reach your ideal weight, you can’t lose anymore weight with this diet.
The 500-calorie hCG diet?
hCG diet injections cause your hypothalamus to mobilize the fat out of their storage locations so that it’s available for use. While you’re only consuming 500 calories per day, your hypothalamus is continually releasing the fat stored in your body. Due to this your body is actually operating on thousands of calories per day. The result is why hCG dieters lose 1 to 2 lbs. of fat or more per day. This protocol enables users to lose fat from specific fat deposits around the body. These include the stomach, lower abdomen, hips, buttocks, arms and thighs. This occurs without the loss of muscle. Furthermore, following this protocol allows the hypothalamus to be reset and answers the questions about why so many former hCG dieters do not regain the weight they lost using hCG.
Will I be hungry on a 500 calories per day diet?
While it’s common to experience mild hunger during the first few days, this will pass, and by week two in the program, you will find tiny servings to be completely satisfying. This is due to your hypothalamus adjusting your metabolic rate, and due to the amount of calories circulating in your system from the fat being released. It is common that after the first week, hCG dieters feel they are stuffing themselves in order to reach the 500-calorie limit!
Why are injections necessary?
The hCG injections are natural and are safely self-administered. They are an essential phase, and without the injections, a patient would be hungry, irritable and experience extreme fatigue while on such a low-calorie diet. Furthermore, without the hCG, one would also not experience the same body re-shaping.
The HCG Program includes the following:

Tracking your success with the hCG diet
This is a common example or why weight alone does not reflect body composition. This client looks like she only lost 5 lbs. after 23 days of hCG, but she reduced her total body fat by 4.5% body fat and her belly (android) fat by 5.6%. She lost 7 lbs. of fat and gained 2 lbs. of lean muscle.
One of our previous clients was on the Age Management program combined with our weight loss program back in January. As part of his program, he started hCG diet. In 40 days he lost 24.4lbs, but what a regular scale fails to show is the change in his body composition, decrease total body fat by 6.2%, abdominal fat (android) by 6%, with a total loss of 22.23 lbs. of fat and a small reduction of 2.1 of muscle!
Dangers of Obesity
Obesity has become an epidemic in the United States, as well as in other parts of the world. More than 1/3 of the U.S. population (adults and children) are obese. In children the numbers have doubled (quadrupled in adolescents) in the last 30 years.
Along with this problem comes a myriad of other health-related conditions such as coronary heart disease, high-blood pressure, stroke, type 2 diabetes, abnormal blood fats (high cholesterol and triglycerides), metabolic syndrome, cancer, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, obesity hypo-ventilation syndrome, reproductive problems and gallstones. Many of these conditions can go together and lead to even more serious complications.
In fact, because of this, people who are 40% overweight are twice as likely to die prematurely as an average-weight person. Obesity is linked to higher rates of chronic conditions than smoking, drinking or poverty, and obese individuals spend more on health care.
